Are ready for longer rides, but need a balance of comfort and performance? The Kestrel RT-1000 is a great choice for endurance road riders who like to stretch out their mileage on the weekends, ride Gran Fondos, or who simply want a fast bike, but without the aggressive body position. The Kestrel RT-1000 105 road bike features a full carbon frame and fork, Shimano 105 11-speed components, and Oval Concepts 527 wheels. A close cousin to the Kestrel Legend, but with more relaxed geometry, the RT-1000 boasts Kestrel’s aerodynamic DNA and is, therefore, plenty fast; yet offers greater comfort over longer distances. The geometry features a taller head tube that puts the rider in a more upright position to ease back fatigue, a longer wheelbase that increases stability, and a slightly sloping top tube that allows the rider to mount and dismount more easily. The RT-1000 is constructed of Kestrel’s Enhanced Modulus Hybrid EMH carbon; a combination of 800K and 700K carbon fibers. It’s lightweight and stiff, yet also designed to offer a bit more compliance. A tapered head tube enhances lateral stiffness for excellent steering precision. Shimano 105 11-speed components bring efficiency and ergonomics to the RT-1000, along with the versatility of a Shimano 105 compact crankset. Oval Concepts 527 wheels and Vittoria Zaffiro Pro 25c wide tires deliver dependable performance and grip. A set of Shimano 105 brakes supply dependable braking performance and a ZIPP Service Course finishing kit make the Legend shine like no other.Features: Kestrel Enhanced Modulus Hybrid EMH carbon frame and tapered fork Shimano 105 11-speed components Oval Concepts 527 aero rims ZIPP Service Course bar and stem Each of the frame sizes has unique tube lengths, diameters, shapes, and carbon layups to produce the best possible ride quality for every size rider

This is the fastest entry level Tri Bike we have ever made. Cutouts in frame material yielded smoother lines which have resulted in increased aerodynamics and incredible results in wind tunnel testing. We know most of the drag in a TT ride comes from the rider not the bike. Using this knowledge we worked to leverage optimal positioning while maintaining comfort to make ride position more aerodynamic. Our model with the typical rider position outperformed the competition. This machine was built with the typical age group triathlete in mind, not the elite top of the class rider, the reality is most of us are not able to maintain the same aggressive position as the world class athlete. You shouldn’t have to sacrifice ultimate performance just because you can’t maintain a very aggressive riding position. The T1 is built for the majority of the triathlete market, tested for the typical rider position and made to perform the best in all conditions. The T1 is 21.4 stiffer with its tapered headtube and is a more nimble corner because of how the front end can now turn more effectively without compromising performance. The bottom bracket has been redesigned to maximize stiffness while maintaining the best overall balance for great handling characteristics. Changing the design stiffened the bottom bracket by 12.4, due to an increased width through the center axle while maintaining the same Q-factor. The goal was a success, we optimized pedaling efficiency for the rider and were able to better increase power transfer from your effort to watts on the bike. The Z1’s adaptability is our key to success – if you are more comfortable on your TT bike you will perform better on your TT bike.

Ride it like you stole it is how the latest Nashbar 105 road bike rolls. Why? Because when you tell your friends and bike buds the price you paid for this sweet ride – replete with an awesome aluminum frame, full carbon fork, and 11-speed Shimano 105 components – the consensus will be that the hit to your bank account was criminally low. Sure, carbon fiber may win the weight weenie wars, but a well-built aluminum frame is nearly as light, plenty stiff, built to last, and is much kinder on the wallet. The Nashbar 105 road bike sports a custom-butted aluminum frame with sculpted tubes and a tapered 1 ” to 1 ” headtube that rides and performs like your very own pocket rocket. There’s a full carbon fork with the corresponding tapered steerer tube fork that inspires confidence courtesy of its rock solid and utterly predictable handling. Aesthetic-wise, too, the 105 road bike hits it out of the park as its black paint job with white accents flat out looks super-sharp. Shimano’s new 105 groupset delivers a perfect 10 for value, craftsmanship, and performance as it makes the leap to 11-speed. You’ll be blown away by how well this stuff works as so much functionality, precision, and reliability has trickled down from big brothers Dura-Ace and Ultegra. The shifter/brake levers, front derailleur, rear derailleur, and cassette all fly the 105 11-speed flag and if these parts were logo-free you’d be hard pressed to distinguish their performance from its much higher-priced Shimano siblings. The FSA Omega compact crankset is a perfect complement to the Nashbar 105 bike’s ethos as it’s where fashion meets function, combining sleek styling with robust industrial design elements in a robust, aluminum package. Shimano’s engineering excellence extends into the world of wheels as well and with the jump to 11-speed they’ve introduced the new RS010 wheelset. Their 24mm-deep aluminum rims reduce rotating mass while at the same time maintain plenty of stiffness for sprinting
