A great cruiser for taller men or those who would like more leg and arm extension, the 26-inch, single-speed Chief Man cruiser bike from Firm strong features an elongated frame with a forward pedaling design. The forward pedaling allows riders to keep seat closer to ground while still getting proper leg extension for a more comfortable ride. A great fit for most men from 5 feet, 4 inches to 6 feet, 4 inches tall, it’s ideal for recreational bike riding as well as exercise and commuting. The 21.5-inch extended length steel frame with a circular, high arching top tube is constructed of durable steel, while the 26-inch aluminum wheels with 3-inch wide tires roll smooth and easy as well as cushion the bumps as you ride over them freely. The wide, oversized seat completes your comfort with dual springs that help make the ride soft and cushy. Both the seat and the handlebars can be adjusted for height and tilt to ensure maximum comfort. Whenever you need to stop you simply pedal backwards, easing on the coaster brake. Other features include wide cruiser bike handlebars with synthetic leather grips, waffle tread tires, a guard to protect pant cuffs from getting caught in the chain, and a 350-pound maximum weight capacity. The bike is shipped 80-percent assembled. Firm strong has been designing high quality, affordable bikes for over 10 years with a focus on blending style and functionality to create a fun, adventurous experience for riders – not just a mode of transportation.
Lighter, stiffer and more durable than its predecessor, there is a lot to like about the R1B carbon-fibre outsole to maintain high levels of stiffness, vital for efficient power transfer. Two Boa dials help lock your feet in and do a very good job of it. Microadjustment is possible and it’s easy to get them off quickly thanks to a quickrelease function. At a claimed 227g for a size 42.5, they are relatively lightweight compared to similarly priced rivals. A neutral footbed also means that these should suit most, if not all, foot shapes. One thing to keep an eye out for is sizing. The size 42s we had on test were a little on the large side, so it would be a good idea to try before you buy to get the perfect fit that such a big spend deserves.

The value-conscious road cyclist never had it so good when one considers what’s on offer with the Mekk Pinerolo AL 2.0. Featuring classic road geometry and eye-catching graphics, it’s a true all-arounder with a triple-butted aluminum frame and carbon fiber-bladed fork providing a superb, high-performance platform. Shimano makes remarkable wheels as well and their R501 aluminum wheelset coupled with Continental Ultra Sport II tires ensures you’re equipped for all-around riding. Capped off with an Italian-made Selle San Marco ERA Start Power saddle, this aluminum steed is ready to fly over hill and dale or anywhere the road takes you. Mekk is the brainchild of Mark Edwards ME and Ken Knight KK , a pair of Brits with extensive experience in high-performance cycling at both the racing and production end of the spectrum.
